Red severum vs Super red severum

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine were called super red gold severums when I bought them and if your wanting to breed them it's my understanding that the males are sterile because they are hybrids my female would lay eggs but the males couldn't fertilize them
Actually I would love two nice males red severums (strictly for show) since I assumed they get the largest and have the most color like most species. But the reason for wanting a male and female was not to breed really, it was to keep the aggression down. I was told that I needed to keep three or more and if I only kept two, that they would fight each other more.

Your fish are beautiful just what I want at about 7'' to 8'' to add some serious color to may tannk. How big are your and what time should I stop by to pick them up.
Seriouly though what time. lol
Very nice, my search contiunes, you have set the bar high for me...

If you are in the US, I think Jeff Rapps has nice sized ones on his list right now. I got mine from him three years ago.

Yes, those are the one's I will probably end of getting, but they are only 3-3.5 inches in size. I was hoping for a much larger size due to the current fish in my tank.

Do males grow much larger than females?

I have a pair and they are extremely easy-going.

Get them young and raise them together. I have an all-male severum tank and there's no major aggression. Throw in a female and everything goes to hell.
