For FL members who plan on buying and selling In FL please be aware of this:

The following reptiles are not allowed to be sold to anyone unless a proper permit is bought and the animal is chipped. Fish and Wildlife are trying to catch people who own these and sell these animals without permits or without them being chipped. If yours are not chipped or you dont have a permit it would be suggested that you comply and get the permit ($100) and get the animal chipped. This went into affect January 1st 2008:

Burmese python
African Rocky Python
Amethystine/Scrub python
Nile Monitor
Green Andacondas

And a permit is required for the buy and sell of Red Ear Sliders for anyone who owns/buys/sells one AFTER the effective date of 01-01-08. Also their eggs must be destroyed if they breed.

Actually a correction to the red ear sliders: You cannot buy or sell them period. You can own them for research purposes and such with a license from fish and wildlife. They are now illegal. The only people who are exempt from that are the people who owned them before the affective date (but these people cant sell them)

Here in Portugal it´s ilegal to own privetly any species of python, boa, hots or menbers of the family Crocodilae:cry:
