Ah yes, that old chestnut. The correlation between increased alcohol consumption and decreased motor function has been the bane of most of my adult life, lol.
Yep...when I was younger, my motor function decreased as my alcohol intake increased.

Now...my decreased motor function makes it less convenient for me to get to the fridge...which impairs my alcohol intake 'cuz that's where the beer is...:)

I've noticed a new correlation as the years have passed. I no longer need to drink any alcohol nowadays yet i'm still plagued with reduced motor function. So increased alcohol and increased years are pretty much the same thing!!

I recently picked up the GBA castlevania pack for my brand spankin new Xbox X. I haven't really gamed hardcore in years...my thumbs are stiff and vision not as good anymore.

So I spent around an hour continuously getting ganked by the first couple dungeons...this mofo in particular...

I've been thinking about getting the series s. Are there anymore retro games that you can buy digital copies of for the xbox these days? Castlevania would be awesome.

I know they have the "Rare replay" pack which has a bunch of old Rare games like conkers bad fur day and perfect dark. I think there are more, many titles to sift through on the digistore.

I had a look online and all these old retro consoles and games are still out there readily available, unsurprising really in this day and age.

Momentarily I thought about getting a mega drive and reacquainting myself with "kid chameleon". But then I remembered the torment it used to cause me, lol.

Speaking of consoles and hardware...does anybody remember Vectrex? It was an all-in-one console/monitor/controller that was available back in the 80's; a hulking, heavy black box that had the controller stored in a slot at the front. When you pulled out the controller, it was connected to the main unit with one of those black coiled cables reminiscent of old-style telephones. Various games were available for it on separately-sold cartridges. The graphics were very simple stylized "stick-figures", strictly black-and-white. Terrific audio effects, sounded like a state-of-the-art sci-fi movie...in the 80's. :) The motion, controlled with the joystick and a few buttons, was seamlessly smooth, no jerkiness or hesitation like many other games, even including stand-up arcade stuff. Very sexy.

I played it a lot and liked most of the games, especially the Vectrex version of Asteroids. The thing seemed quite well-made and well-constructed; when the attached controller finally gave up the ghost after about 10 years of use, I actually looked to replace it but they had vanished from the marketplace...and, of course, there was no internet to make finding another one as simple as it would be today.

I absolutely love retro gaming, and it's great to see you're also getting into it. The NES and Super Nintendo have many classic games that are still fun to play today. I think it's cool that you're also doing your son's room in a Mario theme.

It's a great way to introduce him to these classic games, and I'm sure he'll love it. Also, you could check out games for making money (https://joywallet.com/article/best-money-making-apps/). This can make your hobby profitable.
