Hey guys, I today have joined the RTC x TSN group of fish owner's. Found him here in Huntington beach california, at 405 tropcial fish. Someone here told me about the place, so i decided to check it out, they had a beautiful RTC TSN, hes pretty large in size for a good 4.5 inches. Sadly though, he seems depressed in my 140 gallon tank, and hes breathing rather hard. My water is good too. He was in a tank at the LFS with 3 large bichir, 2 rather small ones, and some weird angel fish lookin' thing. He moved around little bit but showed No agression. He is showing aggression to all fish he even get near him. At first he was moving around fine in the tank when i got him home. Eventually, he started just layin' around like he was at the lfs today and well, is quite a mean fish to the others. Anyone got any suggestions?:(

How long has it been in the process of acclimating? Maybe its just tense since you just got it and hasnt gotten used to the surroundings...Do you have any caves and other rock and driftwood works in your tank for it to hide in?...If its not that maybe your other fishes are harrasing the RTC x TSN....mines had the same problem but i quickly found out the problem was it was not acclimated yet and then 2 days later he's swimming around happy and breathing normally

Well I cycled the tank for a good week and a half. Waited for the water to become clear + I tested the water daily and everything is pitch perfect. I got a good set up for him. Sure its small for now, luckily he is small so it leaves me time to prepare his life long home. At first, my biggest channel Nipped at him once or twice But, of course the rtc x tsn lashed back. Since then, there has been no fights, he's been breathing great, swimming around just fine. Only at night though. When the lights go on hes in the corner behind a giant rock lol. Hes taken a likeing to that rock. Also i have noticed he swims with my 2 channel cat fish and has grown what appears to be a friendship. I don't think he's really eatin' anything. He ate a small goldfish and one of my really large ghost shrimp, but thats about it. I've had him for a couple of days now and its worrying me just a little bit.

I m having trouble with my RTCxTSN: I don't see him eating and he is hanging out in a corner of the tank vertical with his head down.
What do they eat I heard they scavenge but I don't trust that site.

I forgot to mention he/she swims around at the top of the tank.

This is probably my last question but no promises: Is it possible to keep my hybrid in an outside pond or pool through the Pennsylvania winters?
Thanks in advance for the answers.

urr considering both parents are tropical rainforest fish from the amazon im pretty sure that the winter will kill them. they eat just about anything. i feed mind sinking hikari massivore pellets but before that they used to eat peeled shrimp from the market. they loved it with a passion. they also eat live fish if u choose to feed them that. they r really not too fussy. hes probably just getting used to his home. also try feeding wif the lights off. they seem to spook easy wen they r small.

Thanks I ment if i heated it really well but never mind i m getting rid of him due to tank restrictions. And this is beside the point but don't feed Hikari! It has MSG in it i m allergic to that and some people react even if they r not allergic so no telling what it could do to your fish no matter how long you'v been feeding it to them.
