Im no expert... actually Im an extreme noob. However I hae read damn near eery page in this thread. After doing so I believe the fish could go without eating at all for 4 days and be fine, though not reccomended. So I "believe" the answer is yes, your fish will be fine.

Hi cordell, I have a rtc now... I sold all my flowerhorns...
I am teaching him how to eat sinking carnivore pellets as all he ever ate at the petshop were feeder fish... Fasting for 3 days and now he's trying to smell the pellets... Hopefully he'll try to munch on one tonight... :)

Hi guys, I am having a serious problem with my Redtails and TSNs. They have been showing signs of a very ugly bacterial infection. Lost one already. I have ordered a TON of medicine to treat them with, but am very concered. Do you have any advice?

Symptoms: Ulcers, Dead flesh, Open wounds, Fin rot and mouth rot, ect.
Tank: 2/ 300 gallon tanks, w/ Fx5 filter, 2/ 405 filters. 80 degree water. Using BNA1 Bacteria in the water.

Here are some pictures... Note the sick guy. This is the one I lost after desperately trying to heal him.

Are you still having this problem?
I suggest adding the proper amount of salt to the tank and getting a heater in there holding steady at about 88 degrees.
Melafix and primafix also would do great.

I think I will post my question here. I have recently bought a Red Tailed Cat, he's about 3 or 4 inches now, now my question. How long will it be before he colors up, you know add the red to the tail. Will the white spots by the dorsal fin vanish?

Thank you,
Lance

What do you think about a 24" Red-tailed cat and a 20" Paroon shark in a 375gl tank? Currently there are two - 22" Gars alone in the tank. Any compatibility issues? The tank footprint is 5'L x 4'H x 3'D. Give me your thoughts.

In a year or two, there will be an upgrade from the 375gl to something much larger, but for now, I believe 1 RTC & 1 TSN could be a nice blend as they are hearty fish that can hold there own. I am hesitant on the Paroon shark tho, as its a VERY VERY active swimmer, and not as laid-back a the current tankmates:nilly:. Although I know it will be quick enough to get away if there were an altercation.

again...Compatibility?
Your thoughts are welcome :):welcome:

I had a TSN... awesome fish.. he was such a gentle giant! he was 17 inches when I had to get rid of him. :( gentle as he was with his tankmates...he did eat anything that he could fit in his mouth. even a 4-5 inch oscar!!!!!
