Shark Egg: Round Two

Since all my original feeder shrimp mysteriously died off, I just got 3 dozen new ones, so that the shark has food waiting for him when he's born.

I'm assuming it'll be easier to get him to start eating with live ghost shrimp.
Then, I have frozen raw shrimp, silverfish, and squid that I bought from an Asian marketplace to get him on after that ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1364146543.454614.jpg

I was talking to my buddy yesterday about his shark that hatched in jan. he said that he just fed mysis shrimp to the other fish in his tank and the shark went nuts for it by day 3. Just feed on the side with the shark. Hopefully that works and you don't have to go through all these feeders.

Just make sure not to feed it right away. Right before they hatch, they rapidly absorb the remainder of the yolk sac. They will live off that nurishment for the first few days (sometimes a week) after hatching. If they start taking food too soon, it can result in them not using up the yolk sac they absorbed, causing other issues internally.

All the shrimp, other than the pregnant females I removed, are all in the tank that the egg is in. Should I try to remove the shrimp, or will the shark just not bother with them until it's hungry?

Finally went to get the rocks, and got the tank looking the way I want it.
It's about 65lbs of lavarock.

I also picked up my Atlantic Blue Spiny Lobster, and a 3" Three Stripe Damsel (mostly because the store didn't want to deal with it anymore and practically gave it to me).
