Sponge filter keeps floating

I'll give each sponge a week or two before I ring them out and see which has the most particles trapped.

The one with the higher flow rate will have more trapped particles...

assuming the waste is equally distributed in the tank...

Yeah the 2 sponges are fairly close to each other. I know the one with the higher flow rate will have more trapped particles
but I'm not sure if the Whisper40 air pump / sponge provides more or less flow rate than the 135gph powerhead / sponge. So I'll find out in a week or two when I ring them out.
