That’s a wrap for tonight, tomorrow. I’ll have the walls completed. Then I can figure out how to do the top braces. I have a line on some 3/4” plywood sheets, 6 total (front window and tank top). The rest will be 1/2” (inner walls).
I've been thinking about taking a crack at building a plywood tank for years and have been watching your thread.
Very nice. I like it a lot and will probably make my next big one myself. I'm in a seismic Zone 4 area so I've always been a little leary but yours def appears to be stouter than any glass tank I have. Thanks for letting us follow along.
So, today I got the walls completed and the cross beams cut . I left the middle beam out until I can get the plywood installed inside first. I’ll be installing 10” lag screws into each beam (both ends). The top will be covered in 3/4” plywood. It’s definitely stout.
Got the front outside wall covered , as well as the floor. Tomorrow I’m going around the outside edge of the floor and filling all seams with bondo before installing the walls.
It’s finally starting to look like a tank.
