Sump design, how does it look?

After playing around for a little while I think I have come up with the sump design for my new 300. I just wanted to let you guys check it out to see if I need to make any changes. The sump is a 55 gallon tank. I haven't decided what return pump I am going to use yet, or if I am going to use two pumps.

Any input is appreciated.

Thats a nice sump. Not much mechanical, though. Are you going to use a canister, too?

I'm not planning on usinga canister but if necessary I can. I can also put a filter pad above or below the drip plate, would that help?

I think the filter pad on the drip plate and the tow socks would be enough filtration. Canisters are for lazy people with no imagination. ;)

I improved it a bit. here;

I would have to say that is proof that some people have way too much time on their hands. With that said, that is perfect!!!

Yeah, it would help. I'm just worried that with a tank that size, you will be cleaning the filter pads very frequently. If you find that you are cleaning it every two days, you could always add a canister later.

I am also thinking about doing an under gravel or under sand jet system. What do you all think of that?

If maintenance gets too bad I will certainly add a canister. I'm hoping I can get by just using the wet/dry but if necessary I will add either an Eheim 2028 or an fx5.
