Tank size for redtail catfish?

I saw a very cute rtc at a lfs that was about 3 inches long. I am well aware about their size and habits. I'd like to get one some day. So, how big of a tank would I need to keep one?

Also, what could I keep a rtc with? Peacock bass and arowanas?

If tank was 8X3X24 tall it would be about 350 gallons .

That would be approximately 360 US gallons. There is a conversion tool at the top of the screen. I entered in a tank with the dimensions 8 x 3 x 2 = 359.6 US gallons. Length x Width x Height. I hope that helps. Good luck with the RTC btw, they grow like weeds and are voracious eaters. They will pretty much eat ANYTHING that fits, or comes close to fitting, in their mouths.

pretty fast, mines gone from 3" to 6" in about a month

These guys need HUGE tanks, in the 1,000's of gallons. They grow very quickly. If you buy on at 3", he will be over a foot within a year.
