Those big eels are probably Australian short finned eels, Anguilla australis.

monster eels!!! apparently there was a reward for this huge eel, just near where i live...when ever the yearra rivers floods, it apparently gets into the trout farm and kills the trout, now i've heard that it's head is the size of an AFL football...havent heard if it's been caught or not..
