The biggest one I've ever had...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your tank sucks!

:D

Sorry, super positive vibe on this thread was making me nauseous. ;)

Tank is looking good. I'm a jager hater myself, but people will argue about that with me all day in a different thread. I think glass heaters are outdated...

So what are you using as your ammonia source? I'd steer clear of the fish flake thing, personally. If you've got stability, I would leave your filter running on your 55, then move the fish and filter over to the 125 when you're done with setup and just start dosing stability on it.

Congrats darlin! The Texas gal finally got a big one!!!!

It's so cool to see someone so excited about their tank. I know it's gonna look fabulous when you are done!! Now you're gonna have to get some big, big wood.

I think that pictus are a great choice but check out some of the synodotis as well.

I'm sure you'll keep us posted with plenty of pics.

Again, congrats!

Thanks buddy, I appreciate it!!! I have been looking at the wood, not sure if I want one piece or two peices.. On the cats, I was wanting something a little bigger than 5-6", don't know if that'll be possible though.. Thanks again for being excited with me..!!!:D

Thank you Jim, the sweet face looks good on you..;) wear it more often..:D!

When you say glass heaters, your refering to the Fluval I got? I actually added some Rainbow fish yesterday, because the perams looked good meaning that all where at 0ppm (ammonia,nitrate,nitrite).. I only checked the Ammonia this morning and it was at 0ppm again. I might add in the other fish tonight, but I'm not sure.. Right now the temp is at 75 degrees with the one heater, that should be ok to add the other fish .. right? I'm just used to keeping all my tanks at around 80 degrees.

You don't think that'll bother the fish at 75, after being at 80 in your 55? Your fish will think Al Gore lied about 'global warming' !:grinno::naughty::ROFL:

As long as they are acclimated over an hour or so it will be no worry. Fish travel through different thermoclines everyday in the wild with no ill effect.

Ammonia - 0ppm
Nitrates - 10ppm
Nitrites - 0ppm
Makes me nervous that it's doing so well.. but it is what it is right? ... I guessing it's the Stability.. it's the only thing I've done differently...

Tank looks awesome!
What are you doing for substrate?

Thank you!

I'm doing (6) bags of Caribsea Super Naturals Tahitian Moon sand.. I know of a place that sells black sand for much cheaper, I just don't know anything else about the actual sand.. so I'll pay the extra $ because I know how this stuff works and how it looks...

damn fishmamma, i was actually looking at the EXACT same tank up here in Canada.... you would never guess the price of the thing... its 1700$ here. and thats only for the tank stand and the lid, no lights or filteration!!!!!!!!! it drives me mad!!!! i have been looking for cheap tanks forever here but we have absolutely no locally owned fish places... so its either petland or petsmart.... lucky girl hope you enjoy it...
i might have to end up buying the tank for 475$ then building my own stand -.-....

Sweet setup, I love parrots as well. I especially like your chunky monkeys. You got a great deal for your setup, price down here blows. Can't wait too see the sand in there.
