Nice upgrade!

Also, pretty cool catfish that you have there; I have one just like it, too. I want to say that it's a Synodontis gallinae, but I can't find too many pictures of them out there. They're pretty cool catfish; mine eats pretty much any pellet and has some interesting quirks to it.

CORRECTION: I guess that I had the species ID wrong on both catfish; they're Synodontis ocellifer like JamesF said.

Thank you!

I'm doing (6) bags of Caribsea Super Naturals Tahitian Moon sand.. I know of a place that sells black sand for much cheaper, I just don't know anything else about the actual sand.. so I'll pay the extra $ because I know how this stuff works and how it looks...
Check out pool filter sand before you commit to the Caribsea. I grabbed a bag today for my 125. I didn't have enough of my other sand to finish the tank. Dumped it in, looked at it, and removed the other sand. I'll be grabbing another 2 bags tomorrow. $45 for 150lbs of sand, and it's gorgeous. Off white with black flecks. I can't believe I didn't try it sooner. Different pool places should sell different colours.

I didn't read the whole thread but congrats on your new tank. That was also my biggest back then. I would recommend better filters tho because I know you are gonna want to stock the tank more. Good Luck to you tho.

Where did you buy your sand?

At home depot they have 50 lb bags for less than $6 with taxes included! I got a 50 pound bag yesterday and the sand is stunning, ill post a couple of pics later.. I know alot of people on here use mainly this stuff and mix up some of the expensive sand with it but its usually about 75% of this stuff.

Synodontis occilifer. One of my faves.
I'm very suprised he used a net at all. NEVER use a net with synos. It's just asking for a stuck fish (or handler).
I've been told, so then how do you do about it?

I'm tempted now, but I really love the Caribsea stuff.. shoot me a pic of your tank when your done.. I wont be getting the sand for another week or two.. so I've got time to mull it over...
