Zebra's aren't really overrated in my opinion. They are really pretty plecos. BUT they are WAY overpriced. A zebra is easily worth 50 in my opinion, but it is just that habitat destruction has caused their prices to climb just a few dollars from the days of $35 zebras. Dang I wish I would have taken all the zebras I could back then.

sorry let me elabrate overated = $400.00 for a pleco because its banned from import my L260 has all the same qualitys as a zebra for $350.00 less yes i would love a zebra but i,m not paying out that much for one because its hard to obtain this is overated

I agree nutham, a big part of the desire to obtain a delicious zebra specimen is because of the "buzz" or the trend to obtain a delicious zebra specimen.
The situation reminds me a bit of the people who buy clothes with the brand name emblazened on it as a status symbol.

I really like ZPs though. Very striking little fish and carnivorous too!! For the dough, I could be just as happy with a green phantom or something like that.

Would be fun to breed, but I prefer a diversified tank. My tank has 2 Green phantoms, 2 Blue Panaques, 1 Sultan, 1 Magnum, 1 Orange seam, 1 L333, and one Full spot Royal Pleco L330. My wifes got a Choclate, Sultan, Lyretail adonis, Clown, and Whiptail

how big those tanks? you like a diversified pleco tank like me and a few others, fabios dad better get his ass in gear and go over to take some pics!

My pleco tank is a 135, my wifes is a 55. I have well over 100 Lbs of wood and she has about 60 lbs. Both tanks are heavily planted, and I must say I have some of the most unique wood I have been able to find.
