The power of Milk Crates!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Heres a betta tank I set up for my daughter a few years ago. Cheesiest tank i ever put together in my life but she loved it.
Eventually all the paint faded fromMickey and pluto and they looked like ghostly statues in there. I never could bring myself to hook up an air pump so they had bubbles coming out of their mouths.

If I ever get a flowerhorn I'd use this approach since it's an extremely ornamental fish that lends itself to unnatural setups and color. I'd start with:

blended with:

Plants:

And a tacky ornament or two.

A few rocks for extra texture.

Don't forget the background!

OVER THE TOP FUNK IS WHERE IT'S AT. BREAK FREE, LEAVE THE SQUARES. WILD IT OUT. WHO CARES WHAT THE NATURAL LOVERS SAY!

That ^ is...well, it's...I mean...well, that's really something. It obviously needs some submersible LED lights to achieve perfection; maybe one of those bubbling scuba-guys that swims from the top to the bottom and back again, belching bubbles...

If I ever get a Flowerhorn, I am going to do the exact same thing...if I ever get a Flowerhorn...

Actually, now I want a Flowerhorn...just so that I can send it to FINWIN FINWIN and see this plan come to fruition...all from a respectful distance... :)

FINWIN FINWIN . It's no good posting individual pictures of various eye popping types of aquarium decor. What we need is for you to post pictures of an actual set up utilising ALL of those hellish products so we can visualise it in all its pomp!

By the way, who are the sunglasses for....the hobbyist who's got to look at it...or the poor flowerhorn who's got to live in it, lol.

When I joined MFK the plan was always to get a flowerhorn at some point. If I can get this HRP population dealt with I can focus on some other type of fish! I've often wondered if fish see color the same way as we do. My parrots have preferences. Kong loves purple plants and Boss hates red plants (he pulls them up). He also avoids blue plants. Tango likes every color, so go figure.

Man am I geeked to get a flowerhorn now. Trust me the artist can make that madness work!
