Is the dosage for these products still 1 tablespoon per 50g every 7-14 days?

Or have some Altered that to a higher or lower dose? If so what size dose and did you notice a difference?

In a tank that hasnt had any of these products in them do you need to build up with smaller does or just go directly to the 1 tablespoon per 50g?

I've been doing this on my 180g and 90g tanks for the past month and a bit. I haven't noticed any super big changes except for my filters being a lot less gunky. My water is always really, really clear so I didn't notice too much difference there, and my tanks are always healthy. Definitely can't hurt!

But.. there may be things happening you dont see with the human eye correct? the battle of the bacteria is a small scale war.

Also

Rd,

Did you notice in your tanks not only a reduction of fish waste in the filters but how about in the Display tank? I would think it would react with both.

I dosed my specific tanks im treating with the Rid-x formula yesterday for their first doses. Im still waiting on the samples from Septimaxx.

I never said that there wasn't, but my goal for using these products was a very specific one, to reduce organic waste. For me anything over & above that is simply a bonus. I honestly never have a lot of waste that can be seen with the naked eye in my tanks, so what I noticed the most was the reduction of organic waste in the filter media. That's where the mother load accumulates in most tanks.

On a side note. I recently added a large piece of Java wood to one of my tanks. It's basically a wood that is removed from spent coffee trees, debarked, cleaned, and sold for bird perches and/or reptiles. It was washed and lightly pre-soaked, then added directly to the tank. It leached out enough in the display tank to turn the water slightly milky for a couple of days so I added a good dose of septic bacteria and the tank completely cleared up within several hours. Probiotic bacteria is certainly being used in aquaculture for more than just reducing organics, but I think for most people reading this discussion their main goal will be the same as mine, that being the overall reduction of organic waste.

Just got my box of rid-x, so will be starting this now.

Maybe this was addressed and I missed it but does the bacteria just live in the water column which is the reason for continued dosing? It doesn't attach to surfaces like BB?

these products aren't only bacteria. they have enzymes that break down & consume waste, etc.
