the largest one the female is maybe 16/16inchs long, and nearly as deep.

That is an waesome barb. Odd colour to the fins mind you so maybe you have another similar species??

Here was my largest when I sold it

From what I can gather its bigger because its female, she had very red fins like the males when she was young, but the colour faded as she got older, where as the males have stayed very red.

She came with the same shipment from peru, in the same bag (ordered them special) so definately the same species :)

Peru? tinfoils are not from South America??

Sorry, always refer to it as a shipment from peru, but I got some fish at the same time from Peru and they were all picked up at the same time, so always refer to it as a single shipment, but was actualy two :screwy:

My bad, sorry :irked:

I'm quite intrigued with this fish. It looks amazing and of course the same shipment doesn't mean for sure they are the same fish. Ultimately, especially if wild caught, you only have the fishermans word for species (i have some imported rare fish and still have to take the word of the importers and catchers that they are what they say they are).

Any particular reason you had a special shipment of tinfoils brought in? They are pretty common here in the UK and not something I would've thought to have specially ordered. Where abouts in the UK are you?

I'm in Warwickshire, outside Stratford upon Avon, and I always get my fish from the same guy unless he cant get hold of them, and have done for years, he ALWAYS has top quality fish, quarentines them for months, wont sell big fish to people with small tanks and ASKS etc.

Basicaly he cares about his fish, which I find kinda rare in alot of places I have been.

On top of that we dont have many fish shops around here, and I like to support the ones that are decent (even though he is kinda expensive).

Totally agree mate. Definately worth sticking with the good guys.

Can you ask your guy if he can get any Labeo's? Albino Morulius (Labeo) chrysophekadion is top of my list, followed by Labeo cylindricus. But any other labeos would also be considered if he can lay his hands on them. Ones I already have so wouldn't be interested in are standard Morulius (Labeo) chrysophekadion, Labeo Parvus, Labeo barbatus, Labeo calbasu, Labeo boga. Cheers.
