Long overdue update, lol

Still keeping polys and other fish. Just got busy with summertime house chores. As winter sets in in Washington state, I will have lots more time due to rain.

Anyway the addition of a catfish never happened. The seller apparently never got any in and refunded me. I did sell my Nigerian lap to a friend so I am down to 5 polys. Project Oscar was kind of a bust. The wild oscar went nuts in the 300 and was attacking my het and was flaring at polys, lol. Never seen any cichlid pay attention to a poly let alone a 5" Oscar going at a 16"+ poly. So the Oscar was rehomed and the grow out awaits a new occupant... No not another poly but a Suvattii puffer.

Enough talk, a couple pics of polys

Beautiful polys and immaculate tank! I wish I could keep mine that clean. Congrats on the new puffer! Post pics once it arrives.

Sorry to hear the Oscar project didn't work out. Bummer. :/

Fish look great as always. Can't wait to see your new puffer! Please tag me if you make an intro thread as I'm not on here quite as regularly lately.

Yeah, I have raised all kind of groups of baby fish together including the more aggressive types like amphs and never saw the killing behaior like the little wils caughts had toward each other. Anyway it worked out well, a buddy got the oscars and is using them as ‘regulators’ to maintain some control with some smaller fish he is raising out.

The polys have been doing quite well with the Nigerian lap gone. It is almost as if the lap was stressing them out. It was a bit skittish and would end up spooking the whole group. Now there is a lot more calmness.

I have a similar problem with one of my dabolas as you did with your Nigerian lap. I would've rehomed it if not for the fact that we don't get dabola shipments anymore. Honestly dislike it when it goes up for air and absolutely trashes the surface of the water when turning back down and smashes into every single poly in the tank, causing absolute chaos
