I have a lizard that hangs out at the front of my house waiting for my cat to drop some food. When she does, the lizard comes running out and grabs the food.
 
I've also snagged them with big treble hooks but I think castnetting is probably your best bet.

Me. I have gone swimming with gators. There was one hanging out where my last trap was. Btw, there was a bunch of trash left by some people fishing on the way to that trap when I went to check it....They found it and it is now gone too :irked:
 
dang florida people. Can catch a fish better than all mine in a ditch:( (talking about p bass)
