Went out fishing today. It was incredibly choppy and rough out there! Trip got cut short because my brother smashed his face into a fiberglass storage area when we hit a swell. He cut himself pretty bad and is at the hospital at the moment. Well... Caught a few aku's (aka. skipjack tuna/Katsuwonus pelamis. Took one and made sashimi for tonight.




That's half of the Aku fillet minus the bloodmeat and belly.

I grew up in Connecticut and, after school, landed my first job on Kauai. Spent 5 years out there where I acquired a taste for local foods like poke, spam musubi, kalua pork, loco moco and so much more But, no, there's no poke around here......that I know of.

I spent a few moths on Ohau for work and discovered loco moco. I make now at home and nobody else understands it. I love it though
