Probably some sort of Kelberi one of his associates plucked out of a retention pond in Florida ?

Kelberi are nice, Brokopondo seem to be popular.

I was sold this - told it was tem/azul hybrid- turns out it’s Orino (seem quite mean)

Before you buy, ask what they are feeding, done feed pellets... others don’t.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my personal favorites are wc Broko, wc kelberi, wc intermedia, wc ocells in this order. It really depends on what really catches your eye because you are the one looking at your tank all the time it doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks.

^Pretty much....study the fish, learn all you can about them and get what you like.

Thanks that speech from cigars was philosophical but I’m asking because I want to see new species that other people know about

Personally I’d go for sp. brokopondo or really any kind of wc ocellaris. Followed closely by intermedia. Of all bass I’d vote c. Mirianae because of the reds and oranges. Here’s some pics of my brokopondo 5E030EDF-BA68-46D5-AA59-25705CD4A6A5.jpegDB48D441-A266-42F0-8349-1F95398383F3.jpeg6D8CB03C-70F0-4B82-994B-1CF37271CDDE.jpeg

Also when I looked at that picture on predatory fins I cane to the conclusion it’s mainly ocellaris due to the head shape and blotch on the upper rear of the torso. It’s an Interesting fish but not worth his insane asking price

I’ll go with a Broko
I’m looking for more myself. Of the available cichla in the hobby they’re probably one of the most, if not the most, absent from the market. The best time of year to find them is between October and January
