I apologize I will refrain from posting in “any” of your threads

Out of your mind brotha wild xingu monos and kelberi are far more absent from the hobby today. Brokos are available almost year round on lists from Suriname, you see them in those months because importers cycle their imports through the various locales, if you find someone who does Suriname only they can get brokos nearly year round as my friend did, although imo wes has brought in the best looking ones hands down. No one wants to pay 100$+ for wild bass anymore. My friend who also brought in Rio tapajos and Bahia Pinima took almost 6 months to sell out of them. I even helped him buying 20 of them and it still took that long. Look at the f1 xingu from tuic. Years ago they’d be sold out in a matter of days now no one really cares about them. Imo if your going for color at adulthood I’d def go with orinos or kelberi, intermedia and even adult monos. @Blakewater yours looks better most of the ones my friends got from bob. If you get more wes is the best. I’ve had 2 batches from wes and 2 from my friend and each time wes brokos always looked better at bigger sizes.I’m looking for more myself. Of the available cichla in the hobby they’re probably one of the most, if not the most, absent from the market. The best time of year to find them is between October and January
Interesting, thanks for the info. Tbh I avoid a lot of monos and Kelberi because as of late the farmed ones are trash and the “wc” ones are higher quality farmed. In terms of what’s available I’m just referring to what’s out there on the general market that someone newly getting into it might see. That’s very exciting though hearing that I Could possibly find brokos all year round. I’d love to get some from Wes, I had some of his intermedia until the heater killed the whole tank over night and those shower so much potential.Out of your mind brotha wild xingu monos and kelberi are far more absent from the hobby today. He’s all about brackish fish now lol but I’m sure he’d make an exception for brokos, Suriname seems to be his favorite place of import now a days for fresh. I’d hook you up with my used to be friend importer ( Derek van da meter) but he stole 4k$ from me on an import as well as a couple thousand from friends and spent it on drugs so he is no more it’s a shame because he would show me lists and I could have my pick of whatever as long as I paid for my boxInteresting, thanks for the info. Most of his looked “off” to me but yours looks the most normal to what brokos are suppose to look like. I think this was bobs first Suriname import if I’m not mistaken, he prob just repeated what was said to him from the importer as my friend also listed his as wild caught when they turned out to be hybrids @SePPii has them currently. And so you’re saying Bobs are confirmed wild caught then? I’ve just been leaving it out as honestly idk who to believe anymore if I haven’t seen proof
I heard about that, that’s so shady and sad. I feel like every good bass importer I meet becomes so unpredictable with what they bring in. Josh Tanks brings in some okay stuff but it sucks TUIC’s breeder is even getting out of the game. He’s all about brackish fish now lol but I’m sure he’d make an exception for brokos, Suriname seems to be his favorite place of import now a days for fresh. Yeah mine were some of the first ones from his first shipment. I even made him send me a video and circled the exact ones I wanted lol. That seems to be the case with a lot of people though. The closest thing I’ve found to true wc importers thatre consistent are the random dudes on eBay trying to sell bass they caught out of the Everglades hahaMost of his looked “off” to me but yours looks the most normal to what brokos are suppose to look like. I cannot stand joshtanks lol I posted pics on his post when he first brought in farmy Pinima about a year ago of where they were bred in indonesia and he deleted me as a friend smh. It was around the same time my used to be friend brought in the wild Pinima. But 175$ ea vs 95$ the cheaper one wins now a days in the bass game. I don’t hate on the people buying the fish but it’s sad to see hybrids being made of almost all the wild versions of bass just to decrease cost. Only wilds we really see consistently are orinos sadly which most of the shops label as temensis. I didn’t mean to give the impression to you nor anyone else of any kind of hate towards their stock I’m just passionate about this subject. Pinima especially have always been my favorite species of bass and I refuse to lie or not inform people of what they’re getting. Just like the guy that thinks he got a “vazzoleri” which is in fact not, it’s a Pinima. I spoke to the exporter as my friend didn’t know how to ID Pinima. The exporters only reason for them being vazzoleri was because they were collected out of the Rio tapajos, which is idiotic because vazzoleri are endemic to only one river in Brazil, Rio trombetas. I even told pier aquatics and him being to prideful said it wasn’t up for debate. He just wanted too be “the first” lol. SadI heard about that, that’s so shady and sad. No I get it. Bass are also my favorite fish to keep by a large margin and I’m sad I got rid of all the ones I had around 7 years ago. That was part of my mistake too. I thought the import and sale of bass today was just like it was then but on a bigger scale. I haven’t delved into the info surrounding a fish for any species like I have with bass. I get irritated too. From the people who spout off random identifications to the shops trying to make some extra cash labeling them as fish that can’t even be imported. That’s why I stopped going on a lot of bass groups for anything other than to share pictures. I never would’ve realized the amount of bs that could surround a fish. On top of that the more research you do the more pissed of you get. But I still love them. I just wish more people WOULD spend the extra money to get the better quality cichla. I’ll never understand it but hopefully soon we see some new fresh cichla come in. I can only dream of getting a fogo one day lolI cannot stand joshtanks lol I posted pics on his post when he first brought in farmy Pinima about a year ago of where they were bred in indonesia and he deleted me as a friend smh.
