Not sure I'd have braved painting the tank, it's a bit permanent isn't it...

Also remember black always makes things appear smaller then they are (ask any overweight women..lol)

For cosmetic purposes lighter color would have made the most of your tanks dimensions...

Hope you've got no plans to have any black/dark colored fish! Although...If you had some sort of albino's in their it would look amazing !
big ole silver :naughty:

not sure what color to go with :irked:

I'd love to see a zebra plec on a black background, would be half camouflage and you'd just see these sick white lines moving around!!! There pricey though (too pricey for me!)

Maybe something like these below?

so heres the background that came with tank.
"theres another pic of it on the first page of my 240 project"
its 8x2 made of 1x4 and paneling.
its a 3d painting.
the wood,shells,netting is all real.
its really cool but an aro and saltwater backing doesnt mix.
im thinkin maybe make an amazon backing like this. :naughty:

If you go with the plastic background film apply it like window tint.

Wet the glass with mild soap and water in a spray bottle
position the plastic film were you want it
wet the outside of the plastic
squegee out the air bubbles, use a credit card or simaler tool while keeping the surface wet, working from the center out

This should last for years. The soap acts as a temorary glue and it can be peeled off and replaced in the same way at any time.
People have used this method with vegetable oil as well but the amount of soap this requires is so minimal it constitutes no real threat.

Tape and silicone never work right, look as good or last long term
Vegatable oil works too.
Poured it on a sponge, smeared it on the glass and applied the background. Squeegeed out the bubles and its been there for going on 3 years I think.
Don't have to worry about soapy water overspray in the tank this way.
