Which is a better cichlids overall, Umbee or Dovii?

Doviis can be more aggressive, but in my experience, they just never seem to have the confidence to dominate. A lot of times, if a dovii doesn't win a fight the first time it will give up despite sometimes being bigger and stronger. A dovii with confidence will usually win the battle, but one without confidence will lose. It depends on the fish, but that's what I think.

I have never Kept Either one and I want to one day and i would love to keep both but if i had to choose i would go Umbee all the way I always wanted a Dovii but After seeing the GENERAL I want a Umbee now. One day I will own one or both of them

I vote Dovii. Just something about a big bad dovii with some big bad teeth. They're called the wolf cichlid for a reason.

But then again, the Umbee is the blue speckled MONSTER.

I like both and currently keep a f -dovii and a m -umbee hoping for a hybrid but its been a few years now with no sucess. I have spawned both of these cichlids befor and spent alot of time with these 2 types over the years but my fav is the umbee.

I have a dovii pair my female is 30cms my male 50 cms very chill both hand feed I can do tank maintenance with them swimming up to me and watching on,never owned umbee but would love to one day.
