Might just give them away to my friend then. Hopefully they don’t mess with the turtle too much during the night. Upside to this is I do see the borders of the wound turning back to the shell color again so it’s like it’s trying to heal plus turtle still has a very strong appetite & very active. Wound is just getting deeper😓
i'd wait to see what other people say before you do anything, I do think dividing is a good idea for now though.

Yeah just going to divide the tank for now. Gonna have to stop treatment for the weekend unfortunately because I’m going out of town. If it’s more healed when I come back then it would be obvious to know who the culprits were

Few updates this morning. It looks like it definitely hasn’t worsened, more of his shell color is growing back so I guess the fungus is slowly going away? Gonna skip treatment today and let him heal while I’m away for the weekend. Hopefully isolation will help him heal better

Hope when you come back that shell looks even better! will be following this.
Pic my brother sent this morning. Can’t really tell if it’s healing and growing back or just rotting more at this point. Still isolated. PH is at an 8.0 tested yesterday morning. Got some limestone will be adding soon.

I mean it looks better than it did when he was out of the tank. I was reading up and trying to find my own information, since people seem to lack consistent ways of dealing with shell rot, fungus, etc etc. betadine apparently regardless of it's diluted or not, still works and people give what's called a "weak tea solution" I've actually seen NERD (reptile keepers) use this when they got their shipment of turtles in. That's used more for a generalized entire turtle preventative, or if they have damage from shipping. What i've seen for cases like yours; is they apply the Betadine and let it sit for 10-30 minutes, wash it off then apply something called Silverdine cream which you can only get from a vet ( I tried looking online everywhere ) and let it absorb which takes about 30 minutes, then pat it, make sure the cream is absorbed and not still on the turtle, and put it back into the tank. Idk how I feel about the weak tea solution as I'd rather not have my turtle ingesting the Watered down Betadine, but that isn't needed in your case.

Yeah i haven’t seen the turtle in person today but from the pic it looks like the center part that was rotting into a hole looks slightly better, still hard to say though. I’ve been doing the diluted Betadine solution for about 4 days now, spoke to a local fish/reptile store owner he’s the one that suggested Betadine diluted into a tea color, remove the turtle from the tank, pat dry the area with a clean paper cloth & apply the solution. I let the turtle sit out with the solution for about half an hour but i will give the silverdine cream a try as well. I don’t let my turtle soak completely in the Betadine though, just apply it directly onto the wound area and let it sit

the silverdine cream is RX only, so you'd have to get it from a vet. Some people use Neosporin, but we refuse to use that product even in the healthcare field, there may be something similar to silverdine. There's also some yellow powder over seas that they use, but I couldn't find the name for it, apparently it's a miracle cure for everything? :screwy:

Gonna call my vet Monday morning to get some, I think my uncle used to have that yellow powder stuff to treat sores and infections for his koi, no clue where that powder went now. Did some googling and yeah i think i see what you’re talking about. It’s for sale but out of country only. If anyone here knows how to get their hands on that yellow powder please chime in:naughty:

I think it comes from India lol

I'm jealous you can just call a vet, the exotic vets out here require you to come in.
