Wht Filter Socks For Ray Tanks?

Ive been using big filter socks from pentair and they have lasted me about 2 years. I am very happy with them but trying to order them from them again and their website is total crap.

Which filter socks are you using? Where you buying them from? How do the work? You throwing them in the washing machine?

I would like to try a different route
 
Just checked amazon, didnt find many that are as big as the ones ive been using...

Also wht micron is everyone using?
 
I think i got 100 micron last time... I found some that go all the way down to 1 micron...

Polyester?
Felt?
Nylon?

7” dia plastic ring x 30” long
standard 100-200 micron felt From Jehmco or you can order elsewhere. My next order I am going to try Apex distribution here in Canada.

They wash fine in a side load washing machine not so much in a top load. The top load doesn't seem to get rid of the sand. If you have no sand then you are good to go.
 
Looks like the same ones i use. Washing them inside-out made mine last rely long but as soon as i got lazy and just started throwing them in as/is they wore out rely fast.

I use mcmaster ones as well. Both the sewn together "long life" ones and the normal ones, always the 7x16s. 200/100s and the single sewns are 100, last time I bought 50s since the DIY RFSs seem to catch a good deal of sand/crap.

Did you try calling Pentair? Thier site is super confusing now. I just called and ordered over the phone. Told them what I wanted, they found it, pulled info from previous order and sent. If you bought them before you can probably call and tell them to send you more of the same sock you bought in the past they should be able to.
