Did you treat them usuing Parasite Clear? I take no chances, I treat any new bichir in a bath of Parasite Clear before placing them into my big tank. I have stocked up 6 packs of these from Walmart. They worked great!!! The last two I got from you were treated too.jlnguyen74;1956491; said:Dang! Make me wonder if this is the cause of death on my Teugelsi. Some scale area on them lost the color like that, and I thought they looked like that because they're death

Both Joe and myself have had these. They are common on wild caught polypterus.
We trated with Jungle Labs: Parasite Clear, you can buy it at wal mart and some pet stores, and it worked great.
Joe lost some biiig albinos to these damn things. I lost a congicus.
I believed Toyin treats them as well before they're ship out. Honestly, I have no idea where my tank contracted these parasites from but I was glad I treated it ASAP after seeing these pictures. I did tell John about them but he was still too excited about his new bichir order. I cannot blame the guy because I was just as excited.Cohazard;1958659; said:Damn, we should've told John about these when he ordered polys!

These parasites do not leave puncture wounds. You'll just see the slimecoat being eaten away when the fish is dead. Get a bright LED flashlight and inspect your fish. They can be easily treated if you catch it.jlnguyen74;1958711; said:Dayum, I'm spoiled. I used to buy Polyterus from Rich, and he always treats anything he brought in with Prazi Pro, so I was off-guard That means the punctured on my first Teugelsi neck from the Armatus could be postmoterm, cuz the two tiny Senegal I got from Joe are still kicking and eating
