Wow found a really cool tank on Youtube. Great sharks!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Welcome to the site.
Just curious, what is the foot print of the new tank going to be?
(For those Americans who suck at metric: 30,000 liters converts to about 7,900 gallons.)

Turbo and KRJ...making a new thread...hopefully with some editing and a little conversation we can get a sticky, and a source for everyone to go to.

Thanks

footprint is not that crash hot and liters of pool is alot smaller than what i thought. just filled with salt water, size is 5meters by 4 meters by 2meters deap oval shape. may fill in and buy 50000 litre above ground pool for about ten grand aus

Fleshy you suggested

"For a shark that swims constantly at about 5' long, I would probably want at least a 20' pool, no less than 4' deep."

then you state, " Im not saying that I will set that as a standard for myself keeping sharks."

Do you have any idea what your even talking about? You started a completely pointless discussion. You could have just asked what size tank do you think a blacktip needs.

I just want to say that not all Canadians are this rude and annoying. Although I may not be the best example for a kind Canadian either lol.

Sweet tank, I would love to see more pics.

I've seen bigger & better on this board.

Although it does a good job of illustration why adult bamboo sharks require a 750-1000 gallon tank.
krj just out of of intrest is your knowledge of sharks thru reading or keeping sharks or study eg marine biology

As I know zoodiver deals with sharks regularly, I'd be interested in his idea of what the minimum tank size should be. That is, to house these sharks for life.

Check out our new stickied thread on tank sizes...this is the thread that got it started!

Younglin, thank you...maybe its because he is a canadian living in texas. :D

That has to be it. I know that if I stayed anywhere to warm for more than a week I would go insane.

A bit of all 3, actually.

But mostly reading, Private study(research), and years of talking with shark aquarists.
do you have a shark tank yourself or is it all reading/talking to shark aquarists
