Alan - Charleston and Columbia have marine clubs. Atlanta has a great club and incidentally is hosting the American Cichlid Association convention this year July 17 - 20 (and Cincinnati will be hosting in 2009!) Even if you live far away, it might be worth checking out for the auctions and special presentations. I will post the info below.

Attackfish - what state do you live in? Maybe I can help you find one!

Camshaft - are you friggin' serious??? You live in Florida, man, you're surrounded! What cities are you close to? I'll hook you up!

I live in Washington state.
I've looked and looked and cant find one.
Hope you can help!
:)

Anyone know of any in the Northeast GA or upstate SC area?

Charlotte Area Aquarist Society -http://aquacharlotte.org/CAASBBS/index.php

We are Charlotte based but have members throughout the Carolinas. About half of our monthly meetings are in Charlotte and half are held elsewhere in the Carolinas. We have one yearly auction in Charlotte and a Swap Meet elsewhere in the Carolinas.

We do our best to serve everyone…

Our next meeting is being held this Sunday (June 22nd) from noon to 4 pm in South Charlotte in my brand new Fishroom :D

PM me if you’d like to join us (first meeting is free)… and your welcome to join the clubs forum for free too!

There is also an Atlanta based group that is very active. I don't have their links on hand but they are sponsoring this years ACA (American Cichlid Assciation) Convention... they shouldn't be hard to find... *edit* actually they beat me to it ^

Attackfish - so far, I've only found two - unless you keep bettas or koi, then there are even more options!

The largest is Greater Seattle Aquarium Society. I'll post info below.

Also, Puget Sound Aquarium Society http://www.thepsas.org/

Good luck!

Actually, it was just little 'ole me that beat you to it -- I live hundreds of miles away and I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I know by reputation that they're a great club that brings in quality speakers and has excellent auctions. Also, did I mention that the ACA convention will be in Cincinnati in 2009??? I think I did, but it never hurts to repeat it.

Thanks for posting about your club - I hope to see many more responses. I think it is soooooo important that I'm looking up clubs for people who say they can't find one!

OK CR, I've got a couple things for you:

The Greater Orlando Aquarium Society, Inc. They don't have a website, but you can e-mail wsbt@aol.com . I will PM you a phone number as well.

Also, Tampa Bay Aquarium Society: http://www.tbas1.com/

Best wishes!
