Awesome man. And yeah next time I am down by the shop (Maybe for 4 days next week! on business but either way we will get some crackin projects going. We got all kinds of goodies and leftovers and I have access to a huge supply of leftovers from another company we subcontract for.
You know I'm down...I'm thinking about a canopy, using thinner walled, square tubing and then some of that polished aluminum sheet stock to line the inside of it...that way I can do the CFL thing and some blue LEDs

Nice! What's the wall thickness of the tubing?
the tubing is .125" x 2" x 2"
1/8th inch thick.

OK just as planned I got the stand into Primer...All that is left is to Grind the edges on the leg Pads round. Then I can weld them on.
After priming the pads I can do the final sanding, then it's time to put the color on...
check it out, what do you think?:naughty:

haha damn dude are you going to put you house on top of that thing? I think it will hold it- that’s some nice engineering!

Just a bit of overkill huh?
Beefy makes me sleep well at night :D

When I took it by the Fab shop where I bought my steel, I asked the guys to take a look and tell me what they thought...before it was over I had a few guys saying that it will hold the 1 ton plus...in an earthquake...

The Angles looked good on paper and decent in 3D...I took into consideration the different forces under load...front to back, side to side, and then actual weight straight down...
1877lbs for water 150lbs for the tank that brings it to over a ton.
I made sure there was a supporting triangle or right angle to the force.
and then the 3.5" x 3.5" pads supporting 2000lbs
works out to approx 41 pounds per square in or **41 P.S.I.**
easily handled by a slab foundation...

No doubt! One question though- sorry if you mentioned this before but you’re going to put a solid surface on top right? wood or steel?

On top is pair of stacked 1" hardwood plywood with the edge sealed and painted to match the stand,
and a fabric covered foam board .50" thick. It will also serve as the bottom color (black) that you see in the tank...;)

I hit up Mike at Glass-Holes.com and he is shipping me a pump and overflow...
I liked the single 1.5" I got from him so much I went for the DART setup...

I'm going to use a centered 18.25" wide overflow box, with dual 2" drains, that will overflow into the W/D and returned with a Reeflo DART...with 2 x 1.5"

After PhullTank57 came over and gave me a hand, we got the top plywood to size and mounted... thanks Bro, I would'ave never made it today...

Also while we were working and exchanging stories the Fed-Ex guy and the USPS guy stopped and left off some goodies.

You can see the size of the drains from the 2 x 2" overflow...

we worked through the basic layout of the UV /DART/ Overflow arraignment
