I'm glad that Pacquiao has been putting more pressure on Floyd to make this fight. I think getting called chicken s+it enough times finally made Floyd respond.

I think most of the blame for the fight not happening sooner is on Floyd. He's the one with the history of ducking guys. Manny has fought the best and isn't demanding special terms like Floyd is.

My point was I don't want to get into a pissing contest with sumo like other threads. You're too new to the fray to know what I'm referring to. Two straight fights PPV buys have declined while mayweather purse increased is all I'm trying to point out

Manny's recent comments about offering a charity fight in January probably just screwed the split again. Now Floyd can demand whatever he wants when the 60/40 split seemed fair. Now he's got leverage to demand whatever he wants.

I'm Where I'm At
It not derailing and retarded to talk about PPV buys. That's one of the key things that'll determine if the fight even happens or not. If there's not as much money as expected, I think Floyd will find a way to back out and blame it on Pacquiao and Arum. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd will ask for a 70/30 split. Floyd is near the end of his career and he doesn't want to risk a loss. That's why he's been so reluctant to take this fight and why he keeps making the terms unfair. It's the unfair terms that are the biggest stumbling block to making this fight happen.
I know it's not derailing but tell that to that other guy

I think 70/30 isn't too absurd actually. I can see that it's pushing it, but considering that his other opponents have to split 90/10 or so, it's not absurd at all and pretty fair. i'd like to see 60/40 but I understand if he demanded 70/30. not that I agree with it but i'm saying I would understand.

with the two losses, especially the last one, pac has lost some pull in the split. plus mayweather has always been the bigger draw between the two. before the losses the split would be 50/50 no doubt though

at least I will agree that chances of the fight happening are closer than it has been in years. but that's not saying much either so it's whatevers
You've come a long way in a short time haha

Ps, I'm the one who brought up PPV buys so idk how I can get the blame for derailing. I don't care to nitpick wether it's 20% decrease or 5% decrease. Floyd's purse still went up despite declining numbers was the singular point I was trying to bring up

How are the fight's chances of taking place any better than they've been at any time before?....just like always nothing but a bunch of remarks and accusations back and forth....

I know you brought it up, and you were the one doing the derail accusing.

I've never said there wasn't a chance, even way back. I just always felt the chances were really fat, only this time it's a bit less fat. again though, it doesn't say much

it's not much difference. things of note is that Floyd has said he's gonna retire soon. maybe only a couple more fights before he hangs em up. he wants to go out with a bang and this time he is openly and more aggressively calling manny out and putting bob arum on the spot.

this fight is both guys' big bang before calling it quits. they both need this fight for their legacies, they both want it for the fans and want to go out with a bang. and for the money, more so for pac than Floyd, but still, this will be his biggest payday and boxing history's

There's been less accusations then 2-3 years ago when I believe pac ducked floyd (or arum sandbagged it all). The talk has been mostly productive. Pac calls floyd out, floyd comes back with get Arum out the way, pac keeps calling him out, Floyd responds with a date (after speculations had already been high that HBO/SHOWTIME were in agreement of working together for early 2015 fight) It's not the childish BS of before. It's hard to deny there's atleast momentum in the right direction and not the same sandbagging from before. Arrows seem to atleast be trending up

Nothing really matters until they sit down for the very specific conditions but I'm hopeful. I never was before

exactly. if anything the two sides are only doing initial talking. they aren't even really at the negotiating table yet. who knows what demands both sides will make once they get there

there's a little spark of hope for me. only because I believe mayweather is gonna retire and that's why he sincerely wants the fight now. that last fat check is too lucrative and attractive for him not to. if he still has like 5 years of boxing left I'd be laughing at you guys for even talking about it

btw, the pissing contests we've had before weren't really contests. you guys were always talking out your asses. but let's not start that. i'll say I told you so when we're old farts in wheel chairs

That's because Manny has been fighting lesser known guys than Floyd recently. That Canelo fight had a lot of hype leading up to it.

I just think you saying PPV splits is derailing is just dumb. That's what Floyd cares about. He wanted 100% of the PPV and offered a flat $40 million to Pacquiao remember? So it's not derailing, stop saying that jeezus.
