When the polys good to go in big tank. The parrots can be in the qt. To rehab. Will be easier to medicate.
uhhhhh I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying I can switch the spots of the fish in the same day? or are you asking when I am going to put the polys in the bigger tank?
man I want to put them in nowwwww. lol.

At this stage. I wouldn't be concerned about whether or not.the polys are eating. They will eventually. Water parameters and figuring out what to do with the parrots, i.e. treat or rehome.

Just a suggestion on the 55g. I wouldn't being doing fin level water changes just yet. Since its a new set up and on a singular HOB filter. I'd say 50% would be sufficient.
Thanks, Sam! Sounds good about the 50% WC. once a week? I did the almost fin level WC last week cause the nitrates were really freaking high.

For the water parameters, should I test for KH or GH? I know the water here is hard. Would that be causing problems?

Honestly rehoming sounds like the best option for the parrots, they're genetically weak unfortunately. Your polys look good though! Love the moke. :)
Yeah I think I am going to rehome the parrots. Which makes me sad, but it's probably for the best. Thank you! The moke is super funny. Very glad it is a lively fish! Not shy at all.

no carnivore pellets yet! Get them all polys love them. They will eat. I got silversides and large mysis shrimp no one really ate those. I guess mine are to well pellet trained. Ive heard they love mysis and silversides mine wont even think of touching the mysis and only the sens ate the silversides.
this one: https://www.amazon.com/Tropical-Sin...5378&sr=8-2&keywords=hikari+carnivore+pellets

Thanks for the update! I really do think it will be best to rehome the parrots.

I guarantee you that the moke will not turn her nose up at the silversides! ;)
S/he ate sooo much tilapia last night!!! Everybody seems to like the tilapia. Delhezi seems to prefer pellets though! Will try the silversides and the carnivore pellets.

And if you do decide to get rid of the parrots I would honestly suggest to just stick to polys. The struggle for food is real, it's just easier. It can be done but honestly it's just easier, unless your polys are ravenous eaters.

currently I have giant danios and glo-light danios in there. They are fatties. The parrots just kinda are shy. My polys are kinda shy too. Wish everything worked out, but if the parrots are sick....a sick poly is not something I want to deal with, so the polys are staying in the QT for now. So that's why everything is taking me so long. Cause I'm trying to get the water right. Gonna rehome the parrots :(. Which makes me really sad cause they had a lot of potential to be cool fish. But polys come first.

I just want some more colorful fish that swim around. Danios are nice, but they aren't colorful. Which is why I got the parrots. Ironically they don't swim around lol. One digs though, which is cool.

Wet spot had green tiger barbs and they look cool.

Are rainbowfish too big for a 55? Too spazzy?

I also like white tip tetras. They're pink and school and are active.

Thanks for the input everybody! Right now I'm going to wait a while before I get anything else. :D

Update: so I have been doing 90% WC every other day on the 10gal, Because the ammonia has been 0.25ppm every 2nd day. Dosed with prazipro three days ago. The moke now has white dots(itch) on its pec fins and back. Nooooooo! I thought I was being effective with the water this time. :( and honestly am embarrassed that they have ich.

I did the 1tsp salt per gal. Should I increase WC to every day? I have Paraguard and MEthyl blue. Is Paraguard poly safe? Suggestions on how to cure J jaws7777 kno4te kno4te Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683
