Casper is looking great!

Also I love your tank setup! What kind of sand is that? I'm thinking of switching from white sand to black in Hope's to making my mts not stand out like sore thumb lol

Thank you for the compliment.
The sand is Caribsea Tahitian moon, you can't get it now save a few bags still on Ebay etc. Their source for it dried up so its no longer available. I was looking for more myself and ended up e-mailing them about it. Said they have plans to produce it again just have to find a new source.

Trials are tribulations.....

So my roommate from Texas says he can't sleep in the heat and wants to swap rooms. His room is on the front of the apt and the new owners don't want air conditioners on the front anymore. Fine whatever, so we swap rooms.

Instead of moving Caspers tank, cause still dealing with the remodeling stuff, we leave him be. Now I am all nervous, my baby ain't in my room with me. So I stay up till he goes off to work. Fifteen minutes after he leaves I go check on Casper. The damn free 5th hand AC he put in the window is leaking water all over the place. A quarter of the floors are covered already. There is water dripping into my power strip for Caspers tank... the lights on it are blinking like its 1999 again, sparks are flying out..... I get them strip unplugged and the AC.

So I get my new tank I just bought in my new room. Move all the equipment from Caspers current tank to the new one. Move him over, get the old tank torn all the way down so I can flip the stand over and let it dry out from all the water on the floor.

Calgon take me away........

So Caspers new tank

The stand from his old tank is a little over built I think

Caspers glowing white skin seems almost clear to me. He has the orange in his pectoral fins, and a spot under each eye. 20190513_110706.jpg20190513_110843.jpg
But the rest of him it seems is clear not a full on white. Every now and then he will get an orange or black stripe in his unmatched fins, it quickly grows out.

So far he is doing fine with no substrate. I do see him gill flaring and fighting his reflections at times.

So are you keeping the tank barebottom for now or are you changing things up?

I ended up getting that black sand you suggested, worked out great. Thanks again!
