It was already pointed out to you in another thread that Asian Arowana rarely if ever get 36" in captivity, and that (as Dloks also says) they're usually closer to ~24". After that they mostly just get thicker (which bear in mind somewhat reduces their turn radius). LFS has a beautiful adult Super Red that's about 20-22" long and as thick or thicker than a well built guy's forearm.
Is it wrong for me to ask about tank size for an arowana on a thread about tank sizes on arowana?
And as the person who I asked that question to replied "don't listen to one person alone", I was asking to get opinions from multiple sources to cross-reference.

I've done enough of the keeping large fish in small tanks thing, so excuse me if I try to make absolutely certain that I know what I'd be getting into by even considering an arowana.

So instead of patiently waiting for people, you force them to be annoyed and answer your question. You don’t need to make another thread will a kelberi fit in your current nonexistent tank. You can simply use the amazing search function that this forum has to offer and see there’s about 1500 threads on kelberi max size alone and will it fit. You seem a troll asking if a jardini will fit better in a 30” vs 24”. It’s common sense that obviously the bigger the tank space the better. Are you going to make another thread asking what’s a better tank? Because please don’t I’ll go ahead and tell you that a 30” wide tank is far better than a 24” wide tank. Matter fact 25” is better than 24” wide and 26” is better than 25” wide...... here’s another one to 27” is better than 26” wide. All questions are welcomed. Just ask in one thread.... and really think about what you’re asking.. does it make sense.... do I really need people’s opinion about what sand I really like. Is having 20 bucks better than having 3 dollars?
I waited a good while and not many people answered. And I needed to know ASAP because the tank makers needed to know. I respect 99% of the people here and thought that there would be no better place to ask. So I felt it was more appropriate to go to the different threads and create a specific question for a specific species of fish. Organization. Figured there were different experts in each area that could shed some light. Didn't know the same experts viewed every thread and that there are a handful of well rounded individuals here on the forums that cover everything. Not that hard to understand really. The tank is also not nonexistent. It is being built. I have said that multiple times.

And you seem to have a hard time processing information given to you. For this I am sorry as this actually explains a lot about your demeanor and attitude towards others. If you actually took the time to read what I write instead of jumping on me, then you would know that. But we all have our strengths and we all have our weaknesses. It's just that your shine through a little more brightly ?.

And your attempt to insult me is so cute. Trying to equate my question about 24" vs 30" to me not understanding basic arithmetic. It really made my night. Your logic is so flawed it amazes me. Of course I know 30" is better than 24" you silly boy. The difference here is that I need to know if 30" is enough. It may be better than 24" but is it enough? I'm sure this was clear to everyone else here. But I figured I'd spell it out for you to save you from further embarrassing yourself.

I'll say it again and leave it at this. You obviously don't like me. That's fine. But you are embarrassing yourself so badly over here it's beginning to stop being funny. If you don't like what I do, then go away. Stop posting on my threads if you have nothing constructive or additive to give to the discussion. You're going to get yourself banned for no reason. And at this point, you deserve it. This is getting out of hand over absolutely nothing. We're a couple of fish lovers arguing over the internet because someone asked too many questions for your liking on a niche fish forum. #First World Problems.

Jardini max out around 24" with them normally staying around 20 or 22". But while they stay smaller they have a harder time turning, thats why a lot of people say they need more than a 24" tank. personally I feel a Jardini could be okay for quite a while, maybe 3 to 5 years in your tank. But what a lot of people forget to do is imagine the depth and width of even an 18" fish. We always think about the length almost like the fish is a piece of string, but the size of an 18" fish is so much more than just its length. So while an 18 to 24" fish could be fine in a 30" wide tank, trust me when Ill say you'll look at it and wish it had more room. I have 9 peacock bass thatre 4" to 7" in a tank with your same footprint and Im already about to start setting up a separate, larger, growout for some of the fast growers. Its hard to visualize this all through a computer but you'll see. The good news is it sounds like youre not hurting for space and should you need a bigger tank down the road Im sure you wouldnt mind upgrading for a jar.
Do you have Kelberi by any chance? They are supposed to get to a max of 20 inches and I figure they'd be fine in a 30" but don't know how many I could fit in a 96 x 30 x 24. I figure I'd ask here because if I ask on the Peacock forum, Dloks will pop a hemorrhoid. Not that I care. But if it bothers everyone else I guess I'll try to conform to the best of my ability.

No it's not wrong; just like it's not wrong for me to point out that I already answered the question.

I think one of the frustrations here is that people keep asking the same questions over and over or with just a little twist, and other members are finding it repetitive and arguably quite selfish, as there are plenty of other members, new and old, who also have questions and need help.

But I'm not seeing a bunch of posts asking questions either. If there were 10 questions a day or something I would understand. If anything there's maybe 1 or at most 2 new threads so I really don't think I'm stealing any thunder from anyone. And if people don't want to answer then they don't have to. I would appreciate the help sure but I can't force anyone to do something they don't want to do. But I'm probably coming across as wrong as well so idk.

I was really looking forward to posting pictures of my tank during the setup and providing updates. And then posting pictures with the new fish and letting people know how things are going. I was really excited to do all that. But forget it now lol. All of this has really turned me off to fish keeping in general actually. I'm considering just cancelling the tank and losing the few thousand and being done with it all.

Wow, I guess you weren't so serious after all if you let a few online posts affect you to that degree of cancelling all your plans (let alone losing a couple of thousand dollars) -- or are you just playing the pity card? Keeping big fish requires big commitment, it's not a whimsical endeavor nor imo for the faint-hearted. And if all this is messing you up, I would stay miles away from an Asian Arowana lol, they can really screw with your head and seem to take delight in doing so.

Lot's of us don't always agree on this site, not everything in this hobby is so cut and dried, and we sometimes get into pretty heated 'discussions' about many different topics. If we all just gave up whenever someone disagreed with or criticized us, imo there would be hardly anyone on the site.

I will also add that even if some have criticized this or that, it doesn't mean we don't want to see your new tank and fish, nor that we wouldn't help you when you had issues -- some of the 'harshest' people on MFK are also some of the most helpful believe it or not.

I am serious about this. I wouldn't have put in $7000 if I wasn't. It's just very disconcerning is all. I'm not going to let some varying opinions turn me away but when I am told I can't ask questions because it annoys people, I just wonder why go through all the trouble of learning everything. And it's 7 in the morning here and I haven't slept so I'm probably just overreacting. Plus I am pretty heated about it all. A lot going on all at once.

I was more saying that I don't really think that I will be posting any updates and such. Too much trouble. And I could be bothering everyone with it all so what would the point be? I'm not going to cancel my plans because of that but this has turned me off a lot. Not you or anything. You've been quite helpful. The ones that PM me with obscenities are the ones turning me off.

Of course I had no idea that people were PM'ing you with obscenities; if so, much agreed that is really uncalled for and if Admin/Mods were aware of that I don't think they would tolerate it.

I've just blocked them and moved on. But yes that was going on too. So that's why I feel so fed up. I apologize for my outburst. Just very frustrated is all. All I want to do is learn lol.
