My Oscar went 100% goon on me today during a water change...I was pushing a plant stem back in the sand when Brick grabbed my hand like a sandwich and wouldn't let go! I had to shake him loose then he got my thumb.
I get that cichlids are territorial and all that but I didn't think I was close enough to his 'space' to be intruding...maybe because the water level was lower during the drain and space was cramped. If Brick had teeth like an amph I'd be getting stitches right now. His jaw power is impressive and it hurt!
So mr so-and-so has blown it. No meal worms for the next few days. Now he keeps rolling an eye at me and sitting on the bottom. Then he kept coming up to play 'ball' (we bounce his basketball around as a game).
Maybe I should show him the baking pan and this...
