I remember when I was in the UK and would be cursing a weather forecast like this and some clown would say “ well at least it will get warm on tuesday” and I would shake my head and think they were insane
Lol, yes this is true. I think it's a way of trying to cheer people up. We try to hang on to snippets of good news regarding the weather. Weather reporters in particular do this.

It might be really grim for days on end but then they'll rejoice about a tiny window of slightly less cold or less rainy weather, as if we can all go to the beach and sunbathe for a while before putting our duffle coats back on, lol.

It doesn't matter how they try and powder coat it, the weather is grim at this time of the year, and will be until next April/May now.

Cool! Blacktails, right? They look...delicious...:)

I'm allowed one deer per year up here, got mine two days ago, so now I can begin putting out deer feed for the winter; can't feed them before hunting season because it is considered baiting, which is illegal here. We have one gnarly-antlered atypical whitetail buck skulking around; I am looking forward to searching for his weird sheds next spring.
This visitor showed up yesterday. Hope his missing antler wasn't shot off. He managed to survive hunting season here and should be safe for the next 9 or 10 months.

Anything is possible...but it is far more likely that he broke it off sparing with another buck. We always have a few bucks with missing points or complete antlers like that after a few weeks of fighting during the rut.

Watch two similar-sized bucks engaged in serious fighting and you will be amazed any of them have any antlers left.

Less than a tenth of an inch of rain predicted for today. Lovely sunrise colors this morning.

Of course, the sunset colors can be even more vibrant as in this pic

Beautiful colours. Our skies are nothing like that. Have you heard of the book, and film, "50 shades of grey"? Well that's what our skies are like, lol.

Well I certainly hope that that only extends to the title of the book…otherwise you brits have some explaining to do!

Oh I can assure you there's nothing sexy about our skies at the moment. Just grey, grey and more grey, lol.

Been a pretty warm November over here - was in the high 60s into 70s for the first half of the month, but now it’s back to those winter temperatures. Still highs in the 40s and 50s (if lucky), but it’s dipping below freezing at night. Only going to get colder from here…
Nice and sunny skies at least.
