Oh really can we find it by seeing it's vent on this sizePretty fish. Vieja get big so it’s too early to know accurately from body shape & color. If you can catch the fish and get a clear picture of the vent we can help.
Vent basics are;
oo = male, with the 2nd hole being slightly triangulated.
oO = female

Bruh I catched the fish but the view is not clear on its vent , nothing is noticable. But I had seen a very small pointed needle close to the below fin ,is this helpful to make a guessI know some CA cichlid females develop black markings into the dorsal fin. As for Vieja I am not certain of that characteristic mate.
Any Vieja experts in the community know the answer to this question?

Now I'm seeing a pointed needle close to the bottom fin , can anyone try to guess the gender by this
