Hi all!
New to the site here, and keeping big fish in general and want some opinions. I’m going to be moving soon and will be capitalizing on it to do a necessary upgrade from a 55 gallon to hopefully a 90-125 gallon tank. Issue is I’m moving to a 3rd floor apartment. The fish I have right now...
Hi there,
Last week I posted about a rescue Asian Arowana I adopted, who I did a little gill curl surgery on that is doing really well now.
So my question is regarding tank set up. Ive always kept it pretty simple. sand for the geos to sift through, and some rocks for them to create...
Just added a new piece of drift wood into my aquarium, I was hoping someone would be able to help me identify the type of wood? when I google it there a few different types, but they look the same. I would like to find out how long it will take for the tannins of this particular type to finish...
So I’m considering getting some new fish and my Lfs had some juvenile Geophagus Surninamensis for sale. I have a 75 gallon with a 12 in lapradei Bichir and My number one priority is to make my Bichir happy. In the past I had to rehome oscars and flowerhorns since they attacked my Bichir. Will...
Hi guys
Just an update on my Geophagus and Buttikoferi aquarium.
750L, 1.8m tank to recap.
last month (beginning November) the Butti's paired up (got rid of the third one) and started digging themselves a breeding pit. As long as the Geos stay away from the pit, everyone seems to be getting...

Hello everyone! I haven't had a tank for a few years now and the itch to get tanks again was really getting to me... so I gave in and purchased a 30 gallon tank. That lasted me two months, until I decided I needed something larger, so now I have both the 30 gallon tank and a 75 gallon tank...
Hi
Please could somebody help with issue and potential treatment for my two Geos that are currently looking ill.
No other fish in the tank seem to have any symptoms and everything else continues to feed fine but these two seem to be getting worse each day.
Thanks
The Jardini needs to be quick, if he doesn't dash across the tank for his shrimp he looses it to the mob. He has given up trying to get it back from them once they have it haha.
May I please get some stocking opinions? This is my first time keeping Geophagus. I have a 110 gallon tank. 60.5" long, 16.5" wide, and 25.5" tall.
I am considering either Abalios or Red Head Tapajos. I am thinking 6. Does this sound like a good number? I also have access to Winemilleri...
Just showing off my Geophagus Tapajos. One of my favorite fish to keep
I love how these fish aren't skittish, always get so inquisitive when you place your hands in tank, and swarm around your hand as soon as you start messing with/stirring around the substrate wanting to see what you have...
Good Morning All,
Can anyone assist me in identifying which Geophagus these are? Also are they male or female. I have attached a Pic of both, The suspected female is by the tiki ornament while the suspected male is against the black background. I was told these are surinamensis.

Well plans have changed a little with the trio of oscars I have. Today I got rid of 11 fish which cut the bio load I had in half leaving me with 8 fish, I did a large water change and then got things back to normal.
I have been housing 3 oscars temporarily in a 20 gallon long set up as a lot...
Going to be exploring something different and trying aquarium photography, these pictures are of some of the fish in my 125. Let me know what y’all think
