using the 18" width of the tank as a measuring tape, you can see that the lemonfin barbs are getting some size now, although they still look sort of small against the backdrop of the front viewing panel.
Hi I got two lemon fin barbs that are 13 inches now, but I dont have much information about this fish and some one told me that I should ask you. Can you give me some info about this fish please thanks

no problem. the barbs are generally easy to care for, eat lots, and get large. I have had two grow to 18" in the past. I can post pics of the monsters if you would like. Care is pretty much the same as other barbs - they are not fussy eaters, they are hardy and require lots of room.

As far as 4 lemon fin barbs go, unfortunately I had to sell them.

the largest was 12" and all were doing very well.

problem is, they became quite skittish and basically just huddled in a group at the far corner of my tank LOL. when I did my weekly water change, they would jump up and smash themselves on my glass top repeatedly. I am still amazed it didn't break into a million peices.

So, my tank is cleaned and I am going fish shopping today. I am probably going to get two tinfoil barbs (less skittish), some tricolour sharks (been awhile since I have had those), who knows what really.

I don't really have a plan, just a 150g to play around with. but I definitely want lots of motion and I am going to stock it on the heavier side, as the tank is so big it needs a lot of fish to look right. 4 big fish huddled in the corner just wasn't doing it..

one day, I will get the mix in this tank right hahahahaha

all my other tanks/fish are doing well. my GF is moved in, so I am home all the time now so I can sort of 'get back' into the hobby!

stay tuned for updated pics. its been awhile.

new pics will be posted soon, but in truth, there is not much to look at because everyone is so small.

current stock in the 150g is as follows:

3 red tinfoil barbs (what, did you really think I would be without barbs? LOL)
3 tricolour sharks
3 clown loaches
2 synodontis decorus (one of my favs that I haven't had in a while)
3 sun cats (girlfriend wanted those LOL)
1 green severum (not rotkeil this time as they tend to be more nasty)

everyone is quite small now but there is motion at least LOL

I am treating for ich right now since it figures I couldn't put all these into my little 20g quarentine very easily so I am treating in the 150 because the loaches (of course) are covered LOL.. thank god for Ebo Jager heaters, I can get the temp up with those bad boys LOL.

okay, some not so great pics of the small inhabitants during a water change.

I added a leporinus to the mix a week ago.

everyone survived the ich outbreak (thank god for ebo jagers- I was able to easily get the tank up to 86 to get the ich off the fish quickly where the meds can kill it. the loaches were plastered).

all except one clown are doing well. the other two of the three eat like pigs and one is a bit sluggish with the food. time will tell.

soon I will post some pics of the other tanks. flagtail is growing well and is colouring up nicely. filamentosa barbs in the 50g are also growing well and are very colourful.

we are also in the process of setting up a 30g livebearer tank for my girlfriend in the dining room:)

thought I was done with tanks. this is probably the last one hahahaha
