crappie seems to only eat live foods, im trying to train him onto frozen foods but he isn't a fan of that

yes, thats one of the main foods i feed my shift, my crappie spits them up, apparently doesn't like silver sides

Save your money and go smelt fishing in the spring. Good food and free.

i no this is well late but merrr... Im in th uk and i keep bowfin, infact there my fav fish... but yeap us natives are illegal to import from america there are ways to bring them in legally its just hard... and bowfin will com in the right tank too!

I had a couple of black crappie years ago - they are really difficult to get off of live food, and mine always ate live.
