It all depends on how they are set up and how many are run in parralel. I had 2 7" diameter 100 micron bags on my 200gal and I never had to clean them during the 5 months the filter was in service. So, if he runs 10 of them in parralel and cleans them once a month it might be possible.nolapete;2944353; said:Even if they are prefiltered and not much in the way of particulate matter gets to them?
The other thing here is that 100micron bags are not like a screen with 100micron holes in it, they're dense polyester felt. 100micron is just a rating, and they will catch some smaller stuff, and let some larger stuff through once or twice before they catch it, same with 250 micron. Running the same water 2 or 3 times though a 250micron bag may make it comparably clean to running it once through a 100micron bag, but then at the end of the day your bag will have just as much crap in it and need to be cleaned.
PM jophnPTC and ask him how often he needs to maintain his filter bag array, and how it works.
