Grats on the niger, sucks about the slobbering.

Makes me really sad that guy came in DOA. He was gorgeous! I've been patiently waiting for the right time to order one, and I thought this was it. Grrrr!!!! I'm waiting on a reply from the seller. He told me before that they don't ship well and that he would send another one if I paid shipping costs if this one didn't make it! We'll see. Seems like a great guy and the packing was great. I just don't think I can afford the shipping costs for another one.

How much was shipping? Stuff like that I'd rather go to the airport to pick up than sending overnight. I'm sure you're quite aways from the airport though.

I've even asked one of the largest contractors here and they told me that acrylic gets shipped in from other states. Almost makes me want to open an acrylic shop myself! If I only knew how to make acrylic! lol.

Shipping and handling was $80. Ouch!! I'd rather go to the airport also, I wonder if he'd do that?!? This is the first DOA I've ever had and I've had fish shipped 2nd day fedex before. Funny thing was this fish' bag was still intact and the niger's bag was burst and he barely had any water left. I'm gonna ask about the airport to airport shipping.

Most sites qoute them around the 46" mark as full grown adult fish.

Brachyplatystoma platynemum known as the slobbering catfish. They are closely related to tigs, and jurs.

Will that increase the chance of it arriving alive? I think a plane ticket will get it here the fastest. I want this guy to be in transit for as little time as possible. Gonna costs around $60 to do airport to airport.
