180 Gallon Stand and Canopy Build

Very nice work,

I'm have a 150 gallon with similar dimensions 5 x 2 x 2.

What type of wood did you use for the trim

and

What tool did you use to cut out the doors??

Thanks

I used a jigsaw to cut out the doors and then just added trim to it with glue and nails. The trim of the stand is done in 1x3's and 1x4's and then I did a round corner with a smooth strip. I should have the hood done here in a week or so (have to get the funds for the piano hinges and trim).

I saw that you posted and was hoping we were going to get to see the finished canopy! I'm anxious to see how it turned out.

Just a few pictures of the hood in progress, i'm going to finish the top with a piano style hood:

Looking awesome. You don't think the top entering the front like that will make it difficult to net fish, add/remove large decor, or get a 2' python bell in there for gravel vacuuming?

That space in the front is a little bigger than it looks there, it's about 1 foot. But, with the top opening up like a piano the top will be open half way also if needed to get bigger items in directly. I'll get the pics up as soon as i get the top done, will be next payday :) Did get the glass today for the baffles in the 55 sump today and going to get them in tomorrow to let them start to cure. Will be all done within the next month finally and now have another thread up in the central/sa forum to try and get a list of fish ideals going now that i'm close.

Will keep the pictures coming as i progress and the final product also.
