since your building the plywood tank im gonna ask how you do it if you want private msg me cause im curious and i researched and found zip about it nothing that rly caught how to do it

I figured the sealant had had long enough to dry so today I stood the tank upright. Definately impressed with the turn out. Getting it off of those horses was a bit of a trick tho. Bad reflections in the glass but the garage doors were open.

Great build. Really anxious to see it up and running, too.
I like the way you had your plants and decorum layed out on your work bench. It helps when you're able to play around with them on a surface where they can be switched around without getting wet.

Still waiting for the sealant to fully cure but there is still lots to do. Started buying the some trim and did the light box today. Cleaned up some silicone around the glass in the lid and varnished the tank. Three coats so far, I think one more in the morning.
One of the negatives of this Zavlar is that it never fully hardens like a paint so it's always a little sticky. I was finding that the lid would stick to tank to the point where I'd need to pry it off with some real force. As an experiment I tried painting over an area with Krylon Fusion and it seems to have worked fine giving me a nice non sticky surface.

Nice!! What are you planning on stocking in it?

I have an aro and a pleco that both need bigger homes, my wife really wants a clown knife, beyond that I'm not to sur. I live in a pretty small city and my LFS is always looking for people who can rescue larger fish so I'll just have to wait and see what comes my way.

If things go as planned I'll be water testing Friday or Saturday depends when I can get a couple of friends to help me move it outside.
