He gave me back 2/3's of what I paid so I can't really complain since I had it for almost two weeks before I plugged it in. I also kept two ball valves that he had thrown in with the pump.

The sump seems to be great. I have drilled some holes in the outputs from the tank and done some cutting on the diy filter socks. I have a little more work to do to get the drip tray to distribute evenly but that won't be too bad.

I ordered the abs plastic to make covers for the sump today and some pvc rod to make edges around the drip tray to keep water from going around the sides of it so much. I think that will take care of most of my problem.

awesome . What kind of cycle do you have planned? I am sure you have plenty of seeded media right ?

I'm not going to be using any of my canisters on this tank so I'm not really going to be using any seeded media. I plan to use a couple of dozen goldfish feeders to cycle the tank. The ones that look good when I finish will be going into my dad's pond. The others will be returned to my lfs since I don't feed live food.

Ive heard this is a good way to introduce diseases to your tank because of the lack of care gold fish receive. I might suggest tiger barbs. More entertaining. Or a nice fish less cycle is always good. And even still I used seachem stability on an emergency clean tank and it cycled in 5 days. It is legitimate bacteria in spores not live BB so its not as neccesary to keep it cool and all that and the spores unload tons of BB it really works. And your tank is not chained to the bottle after a while either.

Unfortunately the goldfish are already in it. I bought them from the only lfs in the area that I trust so hopefully they will be alright. They have been in the tank since Saturday when I thought the pump I bought was going to be alright. Unfortunately I was wrong. :(

lol . The Goldfish will be fine they are air breathers and in a 300 gallon so no worries there. Any new pics of it with the goldies in it ?

I'll try to get a picture this evening. I have to take a little time to start building up a road bike for my brother but if I think about it I will go ahead and put the lights on the tank and take a couple of pictures. It is pretty plain though, just some sand, goldfish, and water. It also has a temporary heater dangling in the water with a powerhead. :)

I ordered some acryllic tops for the tank from from glasscages. They are going to have to make them for me so it could be a week or so before I see them.

I'm looking for some malaysian driftwood, haven't had much luck yet though.
