Looks great so far!

Im quite new to larger tanks and am wondering whats the purpose of "under sand jets"? Never herd of them. What do they do?
Hopefully the will help keep the waste suspended in the water for longer allowing it to make it's way to the filtration system and keeping me from needing to vacuum the substrate as often.

Been working on plumbing leaks a good part of the evening. I found five leaks, have two fixed for sure, one fixed "probably", and waiting for epoxy to dry to find out about the other two. I'll find out in the morning for sure. I HATE threaded fittings and bulkheads!!!

I believe I have most of the leaks fixed now. I had one more small one pop up that I didn't notice because another one was leaking above it. Two of the leaks were just bulkheads that weren't tight enough. One was a threaded joint that wasn't tight enough. Three of them have been pvc unions that didn't seal up right for some reason. Hopefully in the next half hour everything will be good to go.

Did a little more work with the plumbing today, hopefully I fixed the last of the leaks. I also had to cut down the overflow covers that came with the tank. The slits in it did not allow nearly enough water into the overflows. I was within 1/8" of the tank overflowing. I cut about 1 1/2 inches off of it so it is working much better now. I'm not really concerned about fish getting into the overflow since most of my fish are pretty good size. I am using some egg crate around the top of the overflow to make sure that nobody goes into it though.

Here is a picture of the overflow before I cut it up.

Here it is after, not much of a difference.

Here is the "little" tank, took a few minutes to enjoy it this evening. The dovii are putting on quite a bit of size. I'm really looking forward to them having this tank (not the 300) to themselves.

Oh, here is a short video so you can hear the problem I am having with the "like new" used pump that I purchased.

Me and the seller of the defective pump worked out an agreement on a refund. Glad that I can put that one behind me. Now, I want my new pump!!! :)
