Right, I've a suggestion mate! I saw a documentry on ancient Egypt and more importantly water transfer foe crop iragation. The device used would often leek, hence this method used was to grab handfulls of fine sands and drop into the tank. The kiln dried sand would block the leek and transfer would continue. I thought u could use this method to locate your leek just follow the sand! It worked foe them cous!

I think his leak is more like a drip than streams. I am not sure following the drifting sand would help in this case. I just dont think the flow through the leak is that dramatic.

I agree it is so small really tough to find. Pete is all over it!

I'm new to this giant fish tank topic and noice a lot of people are building giant fish tanks out of wood which is kind of a new idea to me how long are wood tanks life spans?

How is your tank coming along now and roughly how much would you say it has cost thus far. As well what is the best and least expenive way to seal these tanks and does it add any strength to the structure.

Without leaks, the lifespan of a wooden tank is equal to the life of its weakest component. The Permadri coating retained 98+% of its original specs after the thorough required product testing.

Liquid nails states that their product will outlast the project, so I doubt that the structural integrity of the tank will be compromised in any way.

I don't know what the lifespan of Dow 795 is, but I'm sure it's about the same as regular silicone.

The cost last I checked was around 91 cents per gallon.

So a good plywood tank uselly is planned to last ten years?

Well I have a glass 75 gallon tank that has had four prevous owners and avoided going to the dump two times from two of it's prevous owners. My guess is that it might be over 20 years old and eight of those years where in my house and it's still in good shape and running.

I just went threw 180 pages hoping to see the tank full and operational with some monster fish! but i didnt. But i love the tank and hope u get it up and running soon cant wait to see it.

ALWAYS start from the back and work you way back to the front!

LOL
