oh man! how cool would it be if you did a native tank!? you could stock it with dead sea turtles and fish and instead of water, fill it with oil!

I feel you on the truck getting hit part, man... My Lexus got hit when I was at a big fish store sale the other day. No note, no witnesses, no cameras, and in a WIDE open parking lot to avoid things like this. Now if I report it to the insurance and pay the $1,000 deductible to get it fixed, it goes against me and will raise my insurance rates, but I'm paying out of pocket and it's going to be $1,200... Had to call off my 210g river tank project because of this :( Funny thing is that I was there picking up stuff to start it all that day. Best of luck on getting everything figured out!

all i can say is wow ... Pete this is a great experiment and ty for doing this. im very new to MFK.com and this is my 1st post and im so very excited waiting to see your tank full of fish very soon. i currently own 12 tanks from 55 to 300 gallons both fresh and salt water. reading this thread has answered all my questions about coustom wood tanks and cant wait to get started on mine now. amazing job so far with the tank again ty for this thread i think i found a home here at MFK.com

Im kind of disappointed that we find out this late in the game that the builder was skimping on the coat from the beginning.

Before you go making any judgments, do some research or read the whole thread.

Permadri covers 20 - 30 sq. ft. per gallon. I wasn't skimping on the coat from the beginning.

If you're disappointed, then please unsubscribe and discontinue following the thread. I'm so sick of people who haven't so much as built a DIY sponge filter making peanut gallery comments about the progress of this tank. If I'm not going fast enough for you, you're more than welcome to build your own.

Pete,
that was an exercise in patients, no doubt...
I do hope he reads my PM to him,
I didn't hold back,
as usual... brother...

No one is going to be that stupid so they unsubscribe this thread.

I don't know the exact expression in english for the longer the wait, the better something something, but I do know that the waiting is well worth it anyhow! The main thing is that you get your project done, without any leaks!

Pete, Im very sorry my dumb comment upset you. I really didnt think it through. I want you to know Ive read the whole thread and Ive been following it for months, and I sincerely admire your drive and determination. I did not mean to come across that way. You hit the nail on the head I am total newb and in awe of monster projects such as yours. I let a dumb comment get away from me and its not how I meant to come across. In all honesty, I was busting balls but how could you tell and besides, I dont even know you well enough to expect you to take it as such.
