It will probably be on the next weekend. I still have to hook up the oveflows, returns and build my tricle filter with collector tank at bottom. Then build the walls. It might be another 4 weeks atleast before I can finish all this. but I might put in water by nest week end just to help cure/ cycle the tank. Water will only be below the overflow though

Here's a pic of the back tank with the settling tank. All the overflow holes in the tank will be piped to the settling tank. The settling tank will overflow on the top opening you can see at the front then trickle through filter medias. There will be a nother collector tank at the bottom to collect and divert the water to the sump tank

Check out my opening at the top there. Its only 10"!!:WHOA:. But I can crawl into it to go inside :D

I might have to do something with my settling tank. I am not sure if the dirt will settle as it is, I might have to build walls or maze or something to trap the dirt better. This will be done latter once every thing is settled already, then I'll look into how to make my settling tank more efficient in trapping the dirt. I have a drain that leads to the sump tank also so that I dont have to throw the water when I will be experimenting on the settling tank.

Did a little bit of plumbing the returns on the inside of the tank and I have a few questions. How big should my holes be on the returns (1.5" pipe)so as to cut off the back flow when my pump turned off?. 4 of my returns are all the way to the bottom so when I shut of the pump it will suck all my water all the way down to the bottom of the tank unless I have a hole at the top to break the suction. How big do you think my holes at the upper pipes should be?

Another question regarding using bleach..... last saturday we went to a lake nearby to pick up some rocks. Most of the rocks that I pick have weeds on the them so when we got home I placed them all in a plastic bin and put bleach on them. This morning I changed the water and cleaned the rocks a bit. How long or how many times the I have to change the water before the rocks be OK for the tank. Was that a stupid move to put bleach on the rocks?

I hole at the top to break the suction? Sounds like you will just pump out of that hole, rather than into the tank. I'd just put a few check valves in there to be safe. It depends on what pumps as to what size returns are optimal.
