You mean having dry wall around it and putting oak trims / frame around the tank???!! WHY??? WHAT'S THE POINT????
............I mean "Whats the point if the rest of my basement is still like this?

I'll be sleeping in that small fish room if not the dog house if I do anything more on this fish tank with out doing something about this basement first. I got 2 bedrooms, a toilet bath, and a laundry room to finish. But of course I'll still be jabbing a little work on the tank as long as the BOSS doesn't notice it.:naughty:

Heres a pic of my filter rack. 3 layers where I can put my filter media

4th layer is the water overflows. Water from the main tank is diverted to settling tank and the settling tank overflows 4th layer abs sheet with holes.

Here's with the pump running

bottom has a tank and water is diverted to sump tank.

I am using Bacteria House as filter media. It is a popular filter media used by Koi fish hobyist for ponds in Japan and arowana hobbyist in SE Asia.

Heres a pic of my return from the 2 pumps. I originally planned to run 2 - 3600 GPH pump but decided to just run 1. The second pump is still hooked up to my manifold with valve returns. When I'll be flushing the tank I'll run the 2 pumps by just opening the one valve seen there.

That media is not cheap. I got sticker shock when I saw some of the koi folks stating how many pounds they use in their bakki showers. They spend thousands of dollars in media:eek:

I got those bacteria House in Singapore when my wife went there. I got them for Singappore$250 for 10 Kg. Thats about less than $200 canadian for that much of filter media. Its a lot cheaper there but once it gets here they're rediculously priced, if you even find one. I still have 5kg of ceramic rings that I will be putting in the bottom tray.

Just like to update everybody that the Undergravel overflow input with return jets pushing concept that I did in this fish tank to flush out dirt from the main tank is VERY VERY VERY effective. With 1 pump running and 40% or so of return to the bottom I get a fair amount of dirt in my settling tank. But once I turn on 2 pumps dirt is all over my settling tank in second. My settling tank is not settling dirt that good yet, specially with 2 pumps running so will have to improve on this latter. But I can get the dirt out of my main tank with very less effort!!!!! Now just refining on how to get dirt out of the water.
